“mixed media effigy with fire
created for the ashes2ashes project, conceptualized by @kells aka Kelly Burns:
artist makes a work incorporating ashes. burns that work. sends ashes to another artist. repeat. repeat. repeat… till there’s too much time and space between the burning stars and all the lights go out.”
The companion and sequel to ashes 12a - EFFIGY. Where 12a is the art object — the effigy, standing — 12b is the ritual act: the burning. Together the two works document Max Capacity’s full contribution to the ashes2ashes durational project. One edition of each was transferred directly to @kells.tez (project originator) as part of the project exchange.
About ashes2ashes
The ashes2ashes project was conceptualized by @kells (Kelly Burns). An artist makes a work incorporating ashes, burns that work, and sends the ashes to the next artist — who repeats the cycle. Max Capacity is participant #12.
