Generative collection of 1000 abstract compositions created from frames of analog glitch video captured from VHS, then ASCII processed with DOS character set. Minted on Tezos via Objkt.
VHSCII
A generative collection of 1000 abstract compositions. Each piece begins as a frame of analog glitch video captured from VHS, then is processed through ASCII conversion using the DOS character set. The result is a systematic exploration of how analog video artifacts translate through the filter of early computing aesthetics.
Concept and Process
The VHSCII collection represents a convergence of two foundational Max Capacity techniques: analog VHS video glitch capture and DOS-era text rendering. Each of the 1000 compositions transforms a unique moment of analog video degradation into a structured grid of DOS characters, creating an unexpected bridge between magnetic tape artifacts and digital typography.
