Hex-edited digital artifacts exploring binary manipulation and emulator glitching. 44 works created through direct hex editing of digital files to generate aesthetic glitch phenomena.
01:HEX+EDIT
The 01:HEX+EDIT series represents a distinct methodology within glitch art practice—direct manipulation of file binary data to create visual artifacts. These works explore the intersection of digital craft, computational aesthetics, and intentional system disruption.
Concept and Process
Each work in this series originates from direct hex editing of digital files, primarily NES emulator outputs and other digital media. By manipulating the binary data that encodes visual information, the artist creates controlled glitch artifacts that reveal the underlying structure of digital image representation. This methodological approach differs fundamentally from the analog video capture methods used in the N, X, Z, and V series.
